Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
